Abstract

In this paper, we propose an algorithm for channel estimation and equalization for the OTFS system using pilot symbols inserted in the delay-Doppler domain. We obtained the bit error rate (BER) curves in standard channel models EPA, EVA, and ETU with different values of Doppler frequency ranging from 1000 to 3000 Hz, indicating the rate of change of channel parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm not only provides good BER performance (for EPA channel with fd=1000Hz, at BER =10-2, the difference compared to using an ideal channel estimation is only 1.8 dB) but also reduces the computational complexity when compared to other existing methods. © 2023 IEEE.
