Abstract

This paper proposes an isolated high step-down DC-DC converter with a current doubler rectifier, which is based on the conventional isolated fourth step-down converter. The proposed converter owns attractive characteristics including a high step-down ratio, low transformer primary voltage, low voltage stress, wide soft-switching range, and low turn-off switching loss for power switches. Moreover, the current doubler rectifier on the secondary side is very suitable for high-current applications. (a) In this paper, the operating principle and characteristic analysis are presented. Besides, a simulation and an experiment with a 400 V input, and 48 V, 800 W output prototype are set up to validate the features of the proposed converter. © 2023 IEEE.
