Abstract

The article deals with the determination of strength of a frangible bullet, which must have a sufficient strength during firing. A simplified theoretical model is presented for calculating the strength of a frangible bullet when firing. The strength of bullet is calculated at the moment of the maximum pressure and moment of bullet leaving the muzzle. The calculation was performed for the both commercial and development types of bullets. The results of the calculation are also compared with the results of the shooting experiments. The proposal method in this paper can be used in designing of the frangible bullet. © 2021 IEEE.
