The paper presents the results of studying surface coal mining operations in the territory of the Republic of Mongolia. Remote monitoring and analytical calculations identified areas with surface mining of coal deposits, as well as the number of mining and transport machines operating in coal pits. The results of satellite imaging revealed the directions of logistics and use of the mined coal as well as the rising trend in the volumes of coal mining. © 2023 Ugol' Journal Edition, LLC.
