Abstract

This paper presents the results of assessing the technological potential and mining capacity of open-pit coal mines in Queensland, Australia. The technological indicators of open-pit coal mines, the configuration of mining transport equipment, and the elements of coal mining methods are identified based on satellite imaging data. A conclusion is made that the economy of scale allows to keep the level of coal production at 300 mtpa. © 2023 Ugol' Journal Edition, LLC. All rights reserved.
