This study focuses on the mixing layer of two free streams under incompressible conditions. The convective Mach number was changed between 0.05 to 0.3. The detached eddy simulation with turbulent model k-ε was used for the calculation. The results of numerical data were validated with experimental data with the same convective Mach number of 0.185. The results indicated that the numerical scheme provided sufficient accurate data. The averaged flow fields, turbulent kinetic energy, and unsteady behavior were analyzed and discussed insight in this study. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
