In this study, the authors study the influence and evaluation of technological parameters, as follows: The peak current, the pulse time on and the powder concentration affects the content of tungsten on the surface of SKD61 steel after the Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) process, which mixes the tungsten carbide powder (PMEDM) into the dielectric fluid. Using the least square method to build the relationship between the content of tungsten element and technological parameters, thereby assessing the impact of each technological parameter to see which technological parameter factors are the main influence on the content of tungsten element of surface. Through analyzing and assessing the influence of each technological parameter. At the small peak current, the short pulse on time and high powder concentration, the content of tungsten penetrating the surface is best. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.
