Abstract

In this paper, we propose a simple, novel method to suppress background noise in confocal scanning fluorescence microscopy images with superoscillations. The proposed method retains high resolution, while completely removing superoscillation sidebands. Simulations of images from conventional confocal scanning microscopy, superoscillations, and the proposed method are presented, demonstrating its effectiveness. © 2018
